Kavya Madhavan, the most popular actress in the Kerala Film Industry is all set to enter wedlock on the 5th of February. Former child artiste and present software techie, Nishcal Chandran is the groom and the marriage will happen at the Sree Mookambika Temple in Kalloor between 10 and 10.30 am.

Kavya is expected to organize a feast and reception for her friends in Kanghangad on the 12th of February. The actress will also hold another reception on the same day at Hotel Le Meridian, Kochi, which will be exclusive for cinema workers and film stars.

Kavya who has stopped accepting fresh offers is presently on the sets of 'Pattanathil Bhootham' (the film she stars along with Mammootty).

Although Kavya had given dates for the film till the 31st of March, the director of the film 'Johny Antony' has confirmed that her portions would be completed by the end of January. That way the actress would have enough time to attend to her marriage chores.

Kavya was very selective in choosing films in 2008 and was seen only in a few – 'Twenty20' and 'Madambi'. Her only other project that is waiting for release is 'Banaras', which is presently in post production.

'Banaras' is expected to grace theatres in the same week as her marriage.

Ananthabhadram becomes Sivapuram in Tamil

Cinematographer-turned-director Santosh Sivan's directorial venture Ananthabhadram is the first Malayalam feature film screened using a satellite feed instead of conventional prints. It stars Prithviraj, Kavya Madhavan, Manoj K. Jayan, Riya Sen, Kalabhavan Mani, Biju Menon, Revathi and Cochin Haneefa.

Now, this film is to be dubbed and released in Tamil as Sivapuram. The Tamil version will be produced by Sathish Kumar. Marutha Bharani has penned the dialogues and lyrics are by Piraisoodan. The movie is expected to grace theatres in Tamil Nadu soon.

Based on the award-winning novel of the same name by Sunil Parameswaran, Ananthabhadram won five awards in the Kerala State Film Awards 2005 and was a commercial success as well. In a year when most Malayalam films failed to recover costs, Ananthabhadram was one of the few commercial successes, along with Rajamanickam, Chanthupottu, Naran, Thommanum Makkalum and Udayananu Tharam.

Its song 'Pinakkamano' became the top hit among Malayalam film songs in 2005. The director used three paintings of Raja Ravi Varma as an inspiration to picturize this song, rendered by M.G. Sreekumar and Manjari.

Produced by actor Manian Pillai Raju, Ajaya Chandran Nair and Reghu Chandran Nair under the banner of Sri Bhadra Pictures, Ananthabhadram is set in the backdrop of black magic and martial arts. The story is about Ananthan (Prithviraj) who returns to his ancestral village of Sivapuram from the US to light the lamps at Shivakavu, a dark and mysterious temple of Shiva, to fulfil the long-standing wish of his dead mother.

‘Pattanathil Bhootham' starts this December

After completing his new film 'Love In Singapore’, Mamootty will start his next film 'Pattanathil Bhootham' by the end of this December. The movie scripted by Udhay Krisshna - Sibi K Thomas team will be directed by one of their best friends in the industry - Johnny Antony.
In all probabilities, this will be the last film in which Kavya Madhavan will be acting as a heroine, before her marriage. In fact, this will also be the first film in which Kavya dons the heroine role opposite Mammootty. The actress was recently seen as the heroine to the other superhero of Malayalam, Mohanlal in the hit film 'Madambi'.
In the short gap after completing Rafi Mecartin's 'Love in Singapore’, Mammootty will complete the final portions of ‘Pazhassi Raja' which is in the making for a pretty long time.
